The Face is Familiar

Broadcast History: May 7, 1966 to September 3, 1966, 9:30 P.M. to 10:00 P.M., Saturday Nights, CBS Prime Time

Host: Jack Whitaker
Announcer: Jack Clark
Producer: Bob Stewart
Director: Lou Tedesco
Packager: Bob Stewart Productions
Studio: Ed Sullivan Theater, New York City, New York

Main Game (#1): Two teams consisting of a celebrity and a contestant competed. One strip (out of seven) of a celebrity was shown. A general knowledge statement was read, and the first player to jump in (which is rare on Bob Stewart shows) with the correct answer revealed another piece of the puzzle revealed and was given a chance to identify the famous person. The celebrities played the first question and their partners played the next question, and rotated until solved. the team that solved the puzzle after revealing all the pieces won $150 and played the end game.

End Game (#1): Three pairs of eyes were shown, and the host told the celebrity whose lips they had to identify. A correct identity was worth $50. The same was done with three pairs of lips with the contestant, also worth $50, and the celebrity was asked to identify the nose for $50. If all three answers were correct, the contestant won $500.

Main Game (#2): Two teams consisting of a celebrity and a contestant competed. Both teams rotated back and forth by picking one of seven strips revealing a portion of the scrambled face. This would continue until the entire face was revealed or if one team correctly identified the face. Even if the entire face was shown, it would remain scrambled until a correct guess was made. A correct guess was worth $100 and the game. Winning two games won the match.

End Game (#2): The winning team had 60 seconds to guess four partially-shown faces. If they were successful, they won $500. If time ran out, each correct guess was worth $50.
